Modified Bitumen Roofing

Modified bitumen roofing systems are composed of asphalt and rubber modifiers and solvents in specific quantities. This roofing system is excellent for moving water off of flat or extremely low-slope roofs in order to prevent leaks. Modified bitumen combines traditional and modern roofing technologies to produce a time-tested, superior roofing system that has been in consistent use for many years around the world. The two polymers used to make modified bitumen, Styrene Butadiene Styrene (SBS) and Atactic Polypropylene (APP), modify the membrane giving it greater elasticity and temperature resistance. Each works best for certain conditions and roof types, so our expert technicians will ensure the proper application is used on your structure. There are several methods used for the proper installation of modified bitumen roofing systems including seam-heated, hot-mopped, cold-applied, and self-adhesive. Luckily, The Detroit Roofers have the expertise to handle whichever one works best for your structure.
